| I've just started renting a VPS to use as a clan server. I currently have it providing 2 TBR servers:
/connect tbr-clan.ath.cx 11111
/connect tbr-clan.ath.cx 22222 match
The first is intended mainly for custom maps and will support up to 12 players, and the second is a match server for up to 8 players. Admin passes are currently the same as for eynstyne.isa-geek.com
Please test them a bit and let me know if you find any problems.

| I'm open to suggestion for better server names. "Custom" is a bit boring. It does have a mix of custom and official maps, but I have gone for a high proportion of custom maps because I feel that's something that isn't being provided by so many other servers. People who want to play the standard maps/modes are usually just going to use one of the ladder servers.
On the other hand, if there are any official maps and modes that you would like to see on there, I'll add them into the maprot. Voting has now been enabled too.

How can i obtain a "VPS"? Is it free? Or would it be easier to just run one from my house, as I currently do. PS. I used currently verrrrrrry loosely. I don't run any server atm but i can host a bunch, and i currently just make them at my house and run my comp 24/7 parents do not complain.

Better to run servers from ur house if your pc can support server hosting with minimal lagg.. - Beast wrote:

| As long as you have a static IP address, it's easy to set up a domain name with something like dynDNS (that's what I use at the moment). The amount of upstream bandwidth you need goes up with the square of the number of players and upstream bandwidth is usually quite limited on home connections so small match servers should be fine, but you will likely have problems with a full 8v8 game.
Even with just a 12 person limit, my VPS struggles a bit with a full server. But then again, you can't expect much for £3.50 per month. I might look at upgrading to a better provider, but lots of bandwidth can get expensive.

Woot, nice job on updating ur vps blood, kuz now there's no lag anymore.. I think the vps u have now is the best, don't really need anything better in my opinion.. o.O or did u even get a better vps? LOL

| LOL! Well I'm happy you're happy, but the vps is still the same old shit, but maybe they increased the available bandwidth or changed the physical server location. | |

| \/ \/ New Servers \/ \/ - still no name connect, at least not yet - not 24/7 but eh :/
I can keep the 18 slot q-be root tbr server up 24/7 for now, my 'parents', or at least my mom doesn't have a problem with it.
Enjoy! | |

| mm yeah, I have rather a lot of things to deal with regarding the VPS. I also need to look into a new DNS provider as DynDNS is rubbish these days. Might be some time yet | |
